Minister Sok Soken Leads Strategy Meeting to Fortify Cambodia's Tourism Sector

PHNOM PENH, April 10, 2024 – Minister Sok Soken led a pivotal meeting this week with the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism to strategize on integrating the "BUILD + 3Ds" initiatives into the Ministry’s long-term action plan. The session concentrated on structuring a three-year action plan (2025-2027), focusing on core objectives, indicators, and directives that enhance the development strategies encompassed in the "BUILD + 3Ds".

During the meeting, discussions extended to the ongoing reforms needed within the institutional structure and the enhancement of the Skills and Human Resources Department to better align with tourism development. Moreover, there was a significant emphasis on budget allocation to ensure consistent implementation of the strategic initiatives outlined in the "BUILD + 3Ds" framework.

These initiatives are crafted to address emerging challenges such as evolving tourist preferences, intensifying regional and global competition, the surge in digital trends, and the sustainable development of the tourism sector. The strategy aims to equip the Ministry of Tourism with the tools to maximize opportunities and reap substantial benefits from the tourism industry, ensuring long-term growth and stability.
